Vishay Sfernice products include fixed resistors in wirewound, metal film, thick film, and thin film technologies, as well as a significant range of variable resistors. The variable product range is extensive and encompasses variable resistors and motion transducers, many of which are approved to CECC/UTE/NF or MIL specifications. Cermet and conductive plastic technologies are deployed, and single- or multi-turn styles are offered. The range of motion transducers includes single-turn, rotational, and linear, and these products are used in military, aerospace, automotive, off-road, medical, measurement, robotics, nuclear, and general industrial applications. For applications in harsh environments requiring a very long life and a great number of cycles, our product line-up includes a family of non-contacting devices using Hall effect technology.
Vishay Sfernice long-life panel potentiometers, offering lifetimes from 500,000 to 2 million cycles, increase reliability in critical applications, reduce the need for replacement parts, and lower maintenance costs. Vishay Sfernice also offers a wide range of power thick film resistors that can be mounted on heatsinks or PCBs. Their available power dissipation ranges from 5 W to upwards of 800 W. These products typically exhibit a high power-to-volume/weight ratio, no inductance, low tolerance, wide ohmic range, and high overload capabilities. High-reliability components are a key feature of the Vishay Sfernice product line. Techniques developed to manufacture these components are jointly evaluated by the National Space Study Center (CNES) and ESA/SCC. The devices undergo stringent testing both during and after manufacturing.
